After a 6 month hiatus, the GeekZine is back! Currently, we’re playing a little ‘catch up’, but the zine will start debuting as close to on-time as possible from here on out! Be sure to check out May 2011′s zine featuring the winners for the First Annual “Geek Awards”, artwork from Alice Malice and more!

June’s zine should be up in a couple days & will have a review of X-Men First Class from MaGnUs, delicious gamer inspired steampunk artwork from Zelda, a review of Mortal Kombat from Negi, more from The HGW’s “The List of things Mr Welch can no longer do in an RPG” & a sex toy review from Athena Hollow!

A (mostly) gaming and Gen Con related zine is a great way to end it all, too.  Our own Loz even jumped in and wrote what I think is one of the funniest and best articles we’ve ever had. We’ve titled it “Fear and Loathing at Gen Con 2010″ as it is quite on the same lines of a Hunter S. Thompson/Gonzo article.

Next, we have the obligatory Gen Con gallery. Hotties hotties hotties (and some KICK ASS fucking costumes) at Gen Con this year, though we’d expect absolutely nothing less.

After you delve into the crevasses of Gen Con, make sure you head over the fun and always wacky TheGlen to make sure you are aware of the 10 Do’s & Don’ts of how the Camarilla suggests you avoid a whereshark attack.

Of course, no Gen Con edition is complete without a roleplaying article! MaGnUs gives some very in-depth pointers on how to make sure your next character truly comes to life with his article titled “More Than Just A Bunch Of Stats: Character Backgrounds In Roleplaying Games”.

And last, but never least, The Yarg has a review of (as we in the US know it by) “Pirate Radio”. This was considered one of the best movies of 2009, now you can read why!

Doc is back (yay!) with his webcomic reviews. For April, he brings us Porterhouse:

Today’s review hits close to home for me. (And also gives me an excuse to talk about one of my favorite things… me!) It’s Porterhouse by Kent Archer and Tom Torre. It chronicles the life of a struggling cartoonist and his sidekick Buster, the genetically enhanced peanut.

The Yarg reviews the latest remake/revisit: Friday the 13th:

In this film, Jason is much scarier than he was in the other 9 that he stars in. Yes, 2 of the films did not have Jason Vorhees. What a shocker! Jason is intelligent, fast, works out things quite well, and is much more methodical in his killings than in his previous films, where he just seemed to go on a rampage once awoken.

We are also introducing 2 new writers to the team, Doc and Arioch.

Doc, writer of Deranged Comics, will be introducing a new, lesser known online comic to you each month, with his 2 cents provided of course, in what we have named “Comic Corner”

Arioch is, in our opinion, one of the best up and coming fantasy writers. He has given us the permission to showcase some of his work entitled: Chronicles of Faerun.

The Halls of the Lady’s College were closed, and empty now, except for the servants moving to clean up the bits of food, plates and utensils from the graduation ceremony. Anastrianna Xiloscient stood for a moment at the main door, looking back at where she had spent the last six years of her life.

New Features on the site also include the ability to leave comments on each month’s zine. I know that the writers are always looking for creative feedback. Go feed their egos, so we can keep getting fantastic articles!
